These four pieces, created for violist, improvisor, and composer Melia Watras, can be played in any order, alone, or as an extractable cycle. Each work is in some way a prompt for improvisation, centering the agency, choice, and sonic identity of the performer(s) while offering supportive boundaries within which creativity can flourish.
